Members assist at vehicle accidents, rescue calls, and other emergencies as dispatched.

The department supports fire-safety education and encourages working smoke and carbon-monoxide alarms.

1884Historic firehouse constructed
Historic Firehouse
Built for service and still part of the community
The historic South Street firehouse was constructed in 1884 of local brick to house the department's 1878 Silsby steam-powered pumper. Its original belfry bell remains part of the building's history.
